Inspectors will begin interviewing Iraqi scientists in January, but Blix won't make scientists comply. U.S. military chiefs warn administration hawks a war could be longer and uglier than expected. Washington Post poll shows 62 percent support war, but 58 percent oppose it without U.N. support.
