CELEBRITIES

People for the Correct Way works with many well-known actors and actresses to raise public awareness of key issues and to keep discussion from getting too complicated. Here are samples of recent appearances:

Susan SarandonSusan Sarandon testified in Congress before the House Temporary Permanent Joint Subcommittee on Bridge Abutments, Pancreas Transplants, and Fajitas Safety Standards. She was testifying in support of a bill to outlaw growth hormones for lawns. “If your Mexican groundskeepers can’t get your lawn green enough naturally, then just hire more,” Sarandon said.

Mindy D'Stasio Mindy D'Stasio announced that all profits from her new hit single, "(If I Wanna) Then You Gotta," would be donated to People for the Correct Way, after subtraction of certain fees. CDs of "(If I Wanna) Then You Gotta" will be distributed as a premium in boxes of Fruit Loops. Mindy will also be headlining a tolerance and diversity benefit at the new 145,000-seat DecibelDome in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The tolerance and diversity benefit is by invitation only.

Ted DansonTed Danson appeared on a Discovery Channel environmental special, Greener Than Thou. Seated on the beautiful oceanfront patio of his 28-room Martha’s Vineyard vacation home, he explained how all new coastal construction must be stopped to protect our precious shorelines.

Charlie Sheen marched in Milwaukee with janitors striking for the right to take bathroom breaks. “I am one with the causes of the little people,” he declared before jetting off to Vancouver, where his production crew is filming in order to escape California union rules.

Meryl Streep posed for photos with delegates at Arafat T-Shirt Day at the U.N. General Assembly.
